Is George Bush the anti-christ?

Question: Kim: Jesus, I have had several e-mails from people who want you to comment on George Bush because they think he is evil or even the anti-christ. Personally, I don't think he is, but since certain groups seem to think so, I thought you might want to comment.
Also, I recently heard George Bush say in an interview that he considers it to be the America's destiny and duty to spread freedom and democracy around the world. Given that he is attempting to do this with military force in Iraq, I wonder where this might lead in light of what you have said elsewhere. I also wonder whether it is possible to spread freedom and democracy through military power—I mean how can you force a people to be free if they are not willing to fight for their freedom?


Answer from Jesus:

Important questions, and I am happy to comment on them. Let me begin by stating very clearly that George Bush is not the anti-christ. You will see this when you understand what anti-christ is. There are many Christian groups who have the idea that one person will be the single incarnation of anti-christ. There are people who believe that there will be three anti-christs and that the two have already come, namely Napoleon and Hitler. These beliefs are incorrect because they are based on a misunderstanding of the reality of anti-christ, which springs from a misunderstanding of the reality of Christ.

I have attempted to describe throughout this website the reality that everything in the material universe is created out of God’s substance. I have attempted to describe that despite what is claimed in the Bible or in Christian doctrines, I, Jesus Christ – as an individual self-conscious being – am not the creator of the universe. The universe was created from God’s substance, given form through the consciousness of the universal Christ mind. Therefore, the reality of Christ is that Christ is a universal state of consciousness, which can be expressed on Earth only through the individualized consciousness of a human being in embodiment.

The truth about the incarnation of Christ is that it can happen only when a human being overcomes the lower sense of identity and accepts his or her identity as a son or daughter of God. When you do accept your true identity, you become the Word incarnate, you become the Christ consciousness incarnate, you become the open door which no human power can shut and you become the light of the world. That is why I said that when you believe on me, meaning that you dare to follow the example I set, you shall do the works that I did [John 14:12] because you will have followed the call to let this mind be in you – namely the universal Christ mind – which was also in Christ Jesus [Philippians 2:5].

The truth about Christ is that it is a universal state of consciousness that can be expressed in this world only through an individual human being. Likewise, anti-christ is a state of consciousness. Whereas the consciousness of Christ is in perfect alignment with the creative intent of God, the consciousness of anti-christ is deliberately opposing the creative intent of God. So what you now realize is that the concept that Jesus Christ was the only son of God, meaning the only incarnation of the universal Christ consciousness ever to occur on this planet, is a lie. It is a lie that springs from the consciousness of anti-christ.

The reason is that the consciousness of anti-christ currently dominates life on planet Earth, and it wants to keep it that way. Therefore, it will do anything possible to prevent anyone from following in my footsteps. It wants to prevent the true second coming of Christ in which thousands of people embody the Christ consciousness and become the word incarnate. As I explain throughout this website, this is the true potential for the current age, and if the true second coming is to occur, it will pull planet Earth out of the grips of the consciousness of anti-christ.

My point here is to show you that as there is no single incarnation of Christ, there is no single incarnation of the consciousness of anti-christ. This can clearly be seen in the following Bible passage:

21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. (Matthew, Chapter 16)

You will notice that Peter was one of my chosen disciples. If he really had been Satan incarnate, would I have chosen him as my disciple? Obviously not. Peter was simply a typical exponent of the reality faced by a majority of people on this planet. They have the ability within them to recognize truth, to recognize Christ incarnate, as Peter did [Matthew 16:15-19]. Yet because they have not fully embodied the Christ consciousness, people can also become the instruments of the consciousness of anti-christ, which can be expressed through them as it did through Peter when he challenged my mission.

So what I am saying here is that as long as you have not attained full Christ consciousness, you have the potential to become an instrument for the consciousness of anti-christ to be expressed in this world—at least on a temporary basis. The more you allow yourself to become an expression of the consciousness of anti-christ, the more you will become trapped in this state of consciousness, until you become so enveloped in it that you can no longer separate the real from the unreal, the tares from the wheat in your consciousness and your belief system.

What I am telling you here it is that the idea that George Bush is the anti-christ is erroneous. Yet it is possible that George Bush, as any other human being on this planet, can become an instrument for temporarily expressing certain beliefs that spring from the consciousness of anti-christ. In other words, it is not correct to say that a particular person is THE anti-christ. One can say that a person is influenced by and expresses the consciousness of anti-christ. Most people do this from time to time, but that does not mean they are completely trapped in the consciousness of anti-christ.

This then brings us to the question of the idea that it is America's destiny to spread democracy and freedom around the world and the fact that George Bush is willing to do so by using the military power of the United States. If you read the beautiful discourse by my beloved Mother, you will see that there was an angel, named Lucifer, who rebelled against God when God gave human beings free will. God created human beings as extensions of himself, and they are meant to descend into the densest part of God's creation, namely the material universe, and then work their way up through the different levels of God’s creation. They are meant to do this not by being forced to do so but through their own free will, so that when they reach the highest levels of Gods creation, they will have done so exclusively because they love God more than anything else. They will have done so because they have chosen to seek union with God and have refused to be trapped in any lower sense of identity.

Therefore, planet Earth can be seen as a school for souls in which people are meant to learn by exercising their free will. Consequently, it is a law of God that no one is allowed to interfere with the free will of human beings. We of the Ascended Host have absolute respect for God’s law, and that is why we never interfere with the free will of our unascended brothers and sisters. This fact explains why we have limited power in terms of changing people's behavior.

Ultimately, we cannot prevent humankind from destroying itself or destroying this planet. If people are bent on self-destruction, and if they ignore our advice and our rescue attempts, we can and we will allow them to destroy themselves because we have ultimate respect for the Law of Free Will. And we trust that God knew what he was doing when he gave people free will. As Mother Mary eloquently explains, Lucifer did not believe that God knew what he was doing when he gave people free will. He rebelled against God’s plan and lowered his consciousness until he descended into the material universe. In this universe he became the primary exponent for the consciousness of anti-christ.

This consciousness has absolutely no respect for God’s Law of Free Will. Therefore, the consciousness of anti-christ is a consciousness that seeks to force people. The consciousness of anti-christ believes that it is the true savior of human beings and that it needs to save people from destroying themselves. It also believes that the reason people have the ability to destroy themselves is that they have free will. Therefore, the consciousness of anti-christ believes that it is necessary and justified to override people's free will in order to save them from themselves. In other words, the consciousness of anti-christ is a consciousness that imposes a judgment upon people and then seeks to force them into following what it defines as the greater good.

When you transfer this to the idea that the United States has a duty to spread freedom and democracy around the world, you see the potential dangers. Truly, as you say above, it is impossible to force people to be free. You can be free only when you choose to be free. This is what happened in the United States, where the people decided to fight for their freedom by their own power, their own wisdom and their own love for freedom.

The American Revolution was truly an expression of the consciousness of Christ through the people that founded this nation and wrote the Constitution. Yet as has happened to many empires of the past, the United States has today moved far away from the spirit of freedom and the consciousness of Christ that wrestled this nation away from the totalitarian power embodied in the English crown. Indeed, those same totalitarian powers, meaning the totalitarian consciousness, the consciousness of anti-christ, has today gained a very strong foothold in the United States of America. Your current president is only one among many people who are flirting with this state of consciousness.

Take care that you do not fall into a black-and-white way of thinking. It truly is the intent of the Ascended Host that the United States should be a bastion for true freedom and the Christ consciousness. It truly is our highest hope that the United States can become a bastion for spreading the true freedom of the Christ consciousness around the world. Yet this true freedom cannot be spread through force, and this is the essential distinction.

Take for example Iraq. Why did Saddam Hussein remain in power for so long? Because the Iraqi people have not reached a level of maturity that makes them truly want to be free. They were not willing to step up to the level of Christ consciousness that is necessary for a people to become free. You see, because of the current imperfect conditions on planet Earth, people have to win their freedom by fighting the oppressors that represent the consciousness of anti-christ. This is not God’s original plan or design, but it is the current – although temporary – reality on planet Earth. My point is that when people have reached the level of Christ consciousness that makes them willing to be free and makes them willing to lose everything, including their lives ("Give me liberty or give me death!”), in order to win the freedom of the Christ consciousness, then the Ascended Host will send them outside help that can give them what they need to win their freedom.

When the early American colonists reached a level of Christ consciousness that enabled them to be free, the nation of France was inspired to give them what they needed to defeat the British army and establish this nation. Could the United States of America have been established through nonviolence? Yes it could, but at the time the people in the colonies did not have a high enough level of Christ consciousness to win their freedom without violence.

My point here is that it is perfectly legitimate for the United States to serve as a bastion for spreading freedom and democracy around the world, but it is not legitimate for the United States to do this through force. In other words, if there had been a sufficiently strong resistance movement within Iraq, it would have been legitimate for the United States to aid this resistance movement in overthrowing Saddam Hussein from within. Yet it was not legitimate for the United States to go in and violently overthrow Saddam Hussein, because this actually interferes with the free will of the Iraqi people and their evolution toward Christ consciousness.

That is why you see the current situation in Iraq, where many people do not see the United States as a liberator but see it as simply another oppressive force, similar to Saddam Hussein. You see, contrary to the popular belief held by the president and his advisors, the United States has not liberated the Iraqi people. They have simply removed a tyrant, and in so doing they have become the new tyrant oppressing the people. And because the people were not ready for their freedom, they simply view the United States as another oppressor. Obviously, that is not the case for all Iraqis, but I can tell you that the Iraqi people have not reached a collective level of Christ consciousness that allows them to be truly free. That is why the violence and infighting will continue in the foreseeable future and why the country could erupt into a civil war that could quickly ignite a larger war in the Middle East. This is why the world is not safer after the removal of Saddam Hussein. Even America is not safer.

This then brings us to a final point that will be difficult for many people to understand, yet it needs to be stated for those who have ears to hear. The consciousness of Christ is a state of consciousness that is one with God, with God's purpose and with God's will. The consciousness of anti-christ is a state of consciousness that is separated from God and therefore opposes his purpose and violates his laws. Yet you can cannot transfer the concepts of Christ and anti-christ to the dualistic concepts of good and evil.

In fact, you will see that I personally never used the term anti-christ, and the problem is that it makes it seem like the force of anti-christ is in opposition to Christ. Therefore, it becomes tempting for people in a dualistic state of consciousness to reason that Christ is the same as good and anti-christ is the same as evil—according to their definition of good and evil. This is not true because even though the consciousness of anti-christ opposes God and the consciousness of Christ, the consciousness of Christ is not in opposition to the consciousness of anti-christ. The consciousness of Christ is simply beyond the consciousness of anti-christ.

I know this is a subtle distinction that is difficult to understand, but let me attempt to explain. When God created self-conscious beings and gave them free will, God knew that some of them might misuse their free will to oppose his purpose for creation. In doing so, they could no longer remain in the higher levels of God's creation, namely what I generally call the spiritual world. That is why Lucifer, and those who followed him in his rebellion, inevitably descended to lower level of God’s creation, namely the material universe.

In the material universe it is allowed for a conscious being to oppose the laws of God. Yet this universe acts like a mirror and returns to you everything you send out. This principle has been discovered by science in the form of the law of action and reaction. This law simply states that if you send an action into the universe, the cosmic mirror will reflect that impulse back to you with equal, but opposing, force. In reality, the universe is not opposing your action. It is simply mirroring your own action back to you, and human beings see it as a reaction.

So when Lucifer and his followers descended into the material universe and embodied the consciousness of anti-christ, they became the force that human beings today call evil. In so doing, they sent an action into the universe, and the cosmic mirror reflected it back upon them in the form of a force that seems to oppose the force of evil. This is the force that human beings normally call good.

The important distinction here is that what human beings call good is not necessarily good in the eyes of God. It is simply a reflection of the consciousness of anti-christ which has created its own opposition, its own reaction, its own opposing force. In other words, whereas Lucifer and his followers believed that they were actually in opposition to God, they were in reality in opposition to themselves. The consciousness of anti-christ, and any human being who decides to embody that consciousness, is not actually fighting against God. They are fighting against themselves.

Because God gave people free will, God can do nothing to stop this from going on in a seemingly endless spiral of violence and bloodshed on this planet. We of the Ascended Host cannot force human beings to abandon this endless struggle. We can only continue to offer them spiritual teachings and hope that they will eventually tire of fighting against the windmills as did Don Quixote.

We can only work toward helping people see that although there is an epic struggle between two forces on this planet, those forces cannot be defined in black-and-white terms. What most people call good and evil are simply two expressions of the consciousness of anti-christ which has created its own opposition. Therefore, the only true way to remove anti-christ from this planet is to rise above the dualistic struggle in which both sides seek to force people to be saved. In other words, even a political or religious institution that claims to be working for good, but uses force to make people comply, is in reality an expression of the consciousness of anti-christ. It does not respect the Law of Free Will and thus it opposes God's purpose for creation.

My point here is that over the millennia numerous people have been caught in this endless game of thinking that in order to do God's will and God's work, they have to align themselves with the force that they call good and seek to eradicate the force that they call evil. This is what has led to all of the religiously motivated wars you see on this planet. It led to the Crusades in which Christians thought it justified that they kill other human beings in my name. It has led to the modern terrorist movement in which Muslims believe it is justified to kill other people in the name of Allah. And it has led to a movement in the United States in which certain forces believe that it is justified to eradicate Muslim terrorism in the name of Christ. Unfortunately, there are people in the White House who have fallen prey to this lie and therefore have become temporary exponents for the consciousness of anti-christ.

When will this end? It will end when a critical mass of the American people reach a high enough level of Christ consciousness that they can throw off the force of anti-christ that has infiltrated their government. In other words, there is a great need for a second American revolution, but it must – and I say must – be a spiritual revolution instead of a violent physical revolution. What is needed today is that the spiritual people of America make an all-out effort to attain Christ consciousness on a personal level and then begin to express that Christ consciousness in all areas of their society.

When you attain Christ consciousness, you cannot remain passive in the face of evil, but you will not define evil in dualistic terms. You will not engage in the dualistic struggle between the Gog and the Magog, as the false gods of this world. You will rise above duality through the single-eyed vision of the Christ mind. When your eye is single – meaning that you see beyond duality – your whole body shall be full of light [Matthew 6:22], the light of the universal Christ mind. You can then bring the true light that will dispel the darkness that prevents people from seeing that even what they call good is out of alignment with the truth of Christ. This might shock many Christians, but remember my statement, "For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:20). So there is a true righteousness in Christ and a false righteousness defined by man.

When you put on the mind of Christ, you become the open door for bringing forth a higher awareness, a higher culture and a higher form of government that can solve the problems that today seem to have no solutions. My entire purpose for this website is to give people the tools and the understanding they need to manifest Christ consciousness. Let those who have ears, hear my words, but be not hearers of the word only [James 1:22]. Be the doers of the word by being the Word incarnate.
